RISE AGAINST HUNGER

Rise Against Hunger is Zambrero's international partner. As an international hunger relief nonprofit, Rise Against Hunger directs our Plate 4 Plate meals to communities within hunger pockets designated "serious"or higher on the Global Hunger Index. A large percentage of these donated meals are distributed through school feeding programs to support children's nutritional needs and education.

"Zambrero and Rise Against Hunger share a vision of a world without hunger, and together we’ve created an easy way for Zambrero customers to join us in our mission to end hunger. Through the simple act of purchasing a Zambrero burrito, bowl or Kids' Zam Box, customers are helping us provide a nutritional meal that is life changing for those who receive it. The impact of this simple act is huge!"

WHY DO ZAMBRERO PARTNER WITH RISE AGAINST HUNGER?

Zambrero firmly believes in partnering with organisations with a shared belief that all people in this world should receive adequate nutrition and education.

Specifically, Zambrero partners with Rise Against Hunger due to their commitment to distribute Plate 4 Plate donated meals to support school feeding programs within remote, last-mile communities designated "serious" or higher on the Global Hunger Index.

Like Rise Against Hunger, Zambrero is passionate about breaking the cycle of poverty, and education can be an important first step in achieving this. Through the meals Rise Against Hunger ships to communities around the world, the impact starts with a meal and leads to opportunities for bright futures. The promise of a nutritious, hot meal provides parents a clear incentive to send their children to school each day. The school meals enable children to not only be well nourished but also to learn and develop skills that can help support their futures.

HOW DOES RISE AGAINST HUNGER DETERMINE WHERE TO SEND PLATE 4 PLATE DONATED MEALS?

Rise Against Hunger works with established vetted in-country partners who meet strict qualification criteria to ensure Rise Against Hunger meals go only to those who need them and do not end up on the open market.

HOW DOES RISE AGAINST HUNGER PACKAGE ITS MEALS TO BE DONATED?

Through a global network based in the USA and with six international offices, Rise Against Hunger provides immediate nourishment for those facing hunger today and implements sustainable solutions that will lift entire communities for years to come. Rise Against Hunger also visits Australia regularly to partner with Zambrero at their annual Plate 4 Plate Day meal packaging events.

WHAT IMPACT DOES RISE AGAINST HUNGER HAVE GLOBALLY?

In 2022, Rise Against Hunger worked alongside partners and local leaders to serve over 4.4 million people in 38 countries and distributed 42.5 million meals to children and families facing food insecurity, with many of those meals served through school feeding programs to promote education. Rise Against Hunger also responded to the humanitarian crisis caused by the conflict in Ukraine, supporting 14,000 displaced Ukrainians with emergency food assistance.

In addition to addressing immediate nutritional needs, Rise Against Hunger's Empowering Communities projects support communties as they work toward long-term food security. Through these projects, 5,538 metric tons of food were collectively produced to bolster sustainable agriculture initiatives in 2022.
